Former Minister for Justice Alan Shatter has accused Dublin Rathdown TD and Minister for Transport Shane Ross of bombastry and faking voters over the issue of Stepaside Garda Station.
His comments were in response to report in the Irish Times that the station would reopen as a modular station which would be facilitated in the same location in Stepaside and would be the size of four car parking spaces.
Mr Shatter said that Mr Ross was engaging in fantasy politics with people.
In the last election Mr Ross was vocal about the station’s reopening and insisted it to be part for the programme for a partnership government.
However, the Office of Public Works estimated that it would cost €2 million to refurbish the station and felt a modular station would be cheaper.
