The Dún Laoghaire Christmas Festival returns this weekend with a series of events taking place all around the town. This year, the Festival will run from Friday November 25th until Sunday January 8th.
The programme of events will kick-off with the Festival Opening Ceremony, Santa’s arrival and a Fireworks Display in Harbour Plaza on Saturday 26th November at 5.30pm.
The traditional crib will be in place beside St Michaels Church and the town’s retailers will have their windows decorated for the Christmas Shop Front Competition. There will be parking and promotions in the town during the festival incentives period.
The festival market returns to The Metals, and will operate in the Pavilion quarter as well as in the newly expanded area adjacent to the LexIcon. It will have a carefully chosen selection of seasonal craft and food vendors. The festival market will be open on the Metals Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 7pm and every day on the week leading up to December 23rd.
The spectacular Ice Rink at dlr LexIcon will be the centrepiece of the festival this year and is sure to attract thousands of skaters young and old to the town.
