18.21 - The Centre will reopen at 10am Wednesday.
07.18 - Dundrum Shopping Centre will be closed all day today.
Last night, the River Slang in the Dundrum area burst its banks and created a surge of water to flow through the ground level of the Centre. The centre had asked Electric Ireland to disconnect the supply until they have carried out all of our own checks. Therefore Dublin South fm will not be broadcasting today.
About Dublin South FM
Station History
Dublin South FM was the first local community radio station to go on air in 1995 and is the BAI community radio in South Dublin on the former (now defunct) 104.9 frequency. It was formed to solve the difficulty local groups had in letting people know what was going on in the locality and provide a new medium of scope for the community. What stated off as a somewhat 'pirate' station has now become a fully licensed BAI Service for South Dublin and beyond!
Station Staff
Station Manager is Tina Heffernan, Community Liaison Sarah Lavin, Projects and Marketing Paul Wright and Admin manager is Mary Napier. The news room is staffed by journalists Colm Daly and Iain O'Connor. The station is managed by the DSFM board chaired by Dermot Butler.
Over 100 volunteers broadcast and produce over
80 hours of programmes each week from the studios in Dundrum. Their aim is to use local access radio to enhance the quality of life for their community.
